Chuck Wilder Demands Accountability from Commissioner Drake for Insensitive Comments

The recent actions of District Three County Commissioner Brad Drake have drawn widespread condemnation from both the military community and concerned citizens alike.

In a stunning display of arrogance and insensitivity, Commissioner Drake attempted to equate his role on the commission with the selfless sacrifices made by our active-duty military personnel.

Chuck Wilder, Commissioner Drake's competitor in the District 3 County Commissioner race, aptly captured the sentiment shared by many when he stated, "For Commissioner Drake to compare what he does to what our active duty military does is obnoxious, narcissistic, offensive, and completely out of touch."

Indeed, Commissioner Drake's attempt to draw parallels between his comfortable office environment and the harrowing experiences faced by soldiers on the front lines is not just misguided; it's deeply offensive.

To trivialize the sacrifices made by our military personnel in such a callous manner is a slap in the face to every man and woman who has served our country with honor and distinction.

Wilder's words ring true: "Sir, you will never be required to wear a flak vest or lose a fellow commissioner while doing your job!!"

Commissioner Drake's actions during the meeting, particularly his decision to summon a 100% Disabled Veteran back to the podium for his own self-aggrandizement, are nothing short of disgraceful.

Commissioner Drake owes that man, and indeed the entire military community, a heartfelt apology and a debt of gratitude for their service and sacrifices.

Instead of using military veterans as political props, Commissioner Drake should be demonstrating genuine respect and appreciation for their contributions to our nation.

As citizens, we must hold our elected officials accountable for their actions.

Commissioner Drake's behavior falls far short of the standards we expect from our leaders, and it's time for him to acknowledge his mistake and make amends.
